Here is a checklist we have made up to help you not to forget things (at least not too many). You can print it, and keep it handy

		Traveler Cheques	Useful if you don't like using credit cards... and they're safe.
		Credit Cards	Major cards are accepted in most countries.
		Debit Card	In Europe, the pin number can only be 4 digits
		Calling Card	Your telephone bill could be cheaper if you use one of these.
		Driver's License	International driving license can be useful if you travel outside of North America.
		Passport	Required everywhere.
		Visa	Required in many countries. Check with your consulate.
		Travel Insurance	Can save you many headaches... and money too.
		Maps	Road maps of the areas you'll be travelling to.
		Address Book	Write your friends to tell them how much you're enjoying your trip.
		Cellular Phone	Charger. Spare Battery.
		Camera	Film Batteries Memory Cards Charger
		Glasses	Regular Glasses. Sun Glasses.
		Medication	Prescriptions Motion Sickness Headache Pills.
		Electrical Adapter	The electrical power differs almost everywhere. It's most useful.

		Toothbrush	Tooth Paste Floss.
		Razor	Electric Razor Blades. Shaving Cream.
		Hair Dryer	Most large hotels have them.
		Hair stuff	Brush Gel/Mousse Spray Hairclips.
		Soap stuff	Regular Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner.
		Kid Stuff	Condoms Birth control pills.
		Smell Stuff	Deodorant Perfume.
		Cosmetics Stuff	Too numerous to itemize, sorry ladies.
		Contact Lenses	Solution.
		Nail Clipper	And the Nail files are useful too.
		Tampons	Check you calendar.

Things to do

	Make 2 photocopies if all your ID's (passport, driver's license, credit cards etc), and leave one at home.
	Give a copy of your itinerary to a relative and a friend, so they know where to reach you in case of emergencies.
	Cancel delivery of your newspaper.
	Water your plants.
	Don't bring too much jewelery.
	Disconnect most electrical appliances such as televisions.
	Keep a light or two on a timer, so others will think there is someone home.
	Arrange for someone to cut the grass or clean the snow while you're away.
	Have someone come and check the house to make sure all is in order.
	Make sure your bills are paid up to date, to avoid extra charges.
	Make sure your credit cards are paid up before you leave. A nice trip could be spoiled when your credit card is refused because you have reached the credit limit.
